WHAT TO EXPECT:

Intake process

Please have your family physician or nurse practitioner send a referral to Saskatoon Community Clinic, ATTN: Health Records, 455 2nd Avenue North, S7K 2C2. Once we receive your referral, you will be added to our waitlist for an initial intake. When we have availability, a member of our reception team will call you at the number you have provided to book your first appointment.

As of December 2024, our wait time to the first appointment is approximately one year. If you have not received confirmation that you have been added to our waitlist within three months, please feel free to check in with us at 306-652-0300.

Your initial appointments

Your first appointment will be with one of our primary care providers who will discuss your gender goals and needs, with a follow-up booked one month later. Generally, we will see you as often as every three months or as needed for the first year, then every 6-12 months once therapy is stabilized.

What next?

Once your medical gender goals are met, we will work with you to begin transitioning your hormone therapy to your family doctor or another primary care provider in the community when available. We will also help you access surgery and offer support post-surgery while you recover. We recognize that many primary care providers have limited knowledge in this area and are happy to support them in providing your ongoing care. Due to high demand, we cannot provide long-term care for clients who go through our program.
